Thank you for your interest in our Waldorf-inspired products. 95% of our line is designed by me, Joy Chambers, mother of 3 sons, now age 24, 21 and 18. Each of the boys have contributed to JWD since they were capable. My eldest has been responsible for data enrty since he was 16. Middle son has made the Copper Head Frames for years. Youngest makes all the stuffing tools, pattern assembly, shipping and more. I started this business to stay home and help with the costs of our Waldorf School tuition and mantained a home-based business for 16 years. Now, in our 17th year we have made the leap to a small commercial space. The dolls are hand crafted by woman who are trained by me. Assistants work here at the shop to keep the orders organized and packaged and shipped. The clothing is professionally sewn on industrial machines since 1999 by the same contracters. I do most the facial embroidery many of the dolls, and sometimes more. All of the work meets my highest expectations in consistency and quality - something I continue to maintain.
